at 400 Howard - Step away from your screen and into a calmer state with Tai Chi Breath Break—a free, all-levels class focused on mindful movement and deep breathing, right in the heart of the workday.

From 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM

400 Howard St, San Francisco

Taking time to pause during the workday isn’t just good for your health—it’s good for your focus, too. For in-person office workers, a midday reset can boost energy, reduce stress, and improve overall productivity. Tai Chi Breath Break offers a gentle, restorative way to step back from the fast pace of your day.

This free, all-levels class combines slow, intentional movement with deep breathing to help bring calm, clarity, and balance. No experience is necessary—just come as you are and enjoy a refreshing break outdoors in the commercial corridor. It’s a simple way to support your mental and physical well-being, one breath at a time.

Meet the Instructor

Instructor Alex began teaching martial arts for the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department in 2016. After being granted authorization to teach from Simu Simmone Kuo, headmaster of Lien Ying Tai Chi Chuan Academy, one of the oldest Tai Chi studios in Chinatown, S.F., Alex began teaching in parks all across the city.  Within the next few years, she would dedicate 1000+ hours teaching Tai Chi, working across departments including the library, police department and City Hall. Instructor Alex focuses on breaking down movement patterns and simplifying explanations to make information easy to digest for clients.
