Born from a love of flavor, culture, and connection, Modi is San Francisco’s newest destination for Italian-Mexican fusion, located in the heart of the Salesforce Transit Center. The vision of former CFO-turned-restaurateur Dario Nicotra, Modi is the culmination of years of planning, travel, and collaboration. After founding the beloved Tuscan trattoria Acquolina in North Beach, Dario partnered with Chef Marco Avila—whose roots span Mexico and Italy—to create something completely new for the Financial District.

The menu at Modi is bold and inventive, blending Mediterranean and tropical influences into every bite, from elote ravioli to birria lasagna and pizza al pastor. The space itself, inspired by the colors and textures of Tulum and Livorno, is designed to bring people together, offering a transportive atmosphere for both workday lunches and after-hours gatherings.

Led by a passionate team and energized by live music curated by Esteban Cheng, Modi is more than a restaurant—it’s a celebration of two cultures and a joyful, sensory experience woven into San Francisco’s future.
