About The Crossing at East Cut

The Crossing at East Cut has transformed what was once the Transbay Temporary Terminal into a vibrant community gathering space. After serving more than 20,000 daily commuters between 2010 and 2018, the site remained vacant for several years, with ongoing community efforts to bring it back to life. In response, The East Cut CBD, in partnership with local leaders, surveyed over 2,000 residents to shape its future use.

Since opening, The Crossing has become a vibrant community gathering space and event venue featuring outdoor dining, sports courts, a beer garden, and family-friendly activities. It hosts weekly fitness, entertainment, and children’s programming, along with large-scale community events like 415 Day with EMPIRE and World Cup Watch Parties. The Crossing continues to grow as a welcoming destination for residents, workers, and visitors to connect and enjoy.

Pickleball Courts are free & open to the public daily, on a first-come, first-served basis. See the daily court schedule and availability for free/walk-in play here.

What is the court reservation rate?
The current rate is $110/hour/court for up to 3 courts. For 4+ courts, please contact us here. Rates are subject to change per season.

How do I request a court reservation?
Submit a request for approval through the portal. Keep in mind that this is only a request and approval is subject to availability. Please see the court availability calendar here before requesting.

When are reservations available?
Court reservations are available Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm. Special events with court reservations may be accepted Friday through Sunday — submit request here.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MANAGE THE PICKLEBALL COURTS OUTSIDE OF STANDARD POLICIES FOR SPECIAL EVENTS, PROGRAMMING, AND SITE OPERATIONS.

SOCCER FIELDS AT THE CROSSING
Street Soccer USA’s custom small-sided fields (50 feet by 70 feet) at The Crossing at East Cut are open daily for community play, league games, rentals, and youth programs. Two fields are available onsite for private bookings and Street Soccer USA programming.

When the fields are not reserved, they are open for free community play. Please check the calendar below to see current field availability. This park thrives on a strong culture of respect. Bring positive energy, welcome everyone, and help keep this a joyful and inclusive space for all.

FIELD RESERVATIONS
The fields can be reserved on an hourly basis for games, practices, or events. All reservation fees directly support Street Soccer USA’s free neighborhood-based youth programs across San Francisco, providing safe and equitable access to soccer for every child.

STREET SOCCER USA PROGRAM

Street Soccer USA is a national nonprofit that uses soccer to advance equity, strengthen community, and create opportunity. Our San Francisco programs are rooted in neighborhoods where access to quality sports programs is most limited.
Through free and consistent soccer programming led by trained coach-mentors, youth learn teamwork, confidence, and leadership while connecting with caring adults and supportive peers. Our goal is to develop team players and community leaders who see the field as a place to belong, grow, and build brighter futures.
We work in partnership with families, schools, and community organizations to ensure that every young person, regardless of income, background, or experience, has a place to play, belong, and thrive.

Located near the Beer Garden is our Children’s Playground! The perfect place to keep the little ones busy while you grab a drink at The Greyhound Bar.

“Paid Time Off” is a fun branding sidequest by local San Francisco illustrator and designer Emilie Vo inspired by her corporate experience. Merchandise includes stickers, keychains, and prints that you can gift to your favorite work buddy.

A collaborative initiative with Amazon, SF OEWD, and the SF Chamber of Commerce, The East Cut is proud to offer this retail pop-up kiosk, giving entrepreneurs and small business owners the chance to explore brick-and-mortar retail.

Rent-free, vendors may operate in The Blue Depot at The Crossing for one month, during which they can sell products or services and interface with in-person customers.
