at 505 Howard - Music @ Lunch brings free, live music to the neighborhood once a month—giving office workers a reason to step outside, recharge, and enjoy the midday break.

From 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM

505 Howard St, San Francisco

A good lunch break should do more than just refuel you—it should lift your mood and break up the day. Music @ Lunch brings free, live music to the commercial corridor once a month, creating a reason to get outside, connect with your surroundings, and enjoy a few stress-free moments during the workday.

Each performance features local musicians and a relaxed, open-air setting—perfect for office workers looking to reset. Whether you bring your lunch or just stop by for a song or two, this monthly event is a simple way to add rhythm to your routine and make the most of your midday.

Meet this week's performer:

Le Jazu is an eclectic string quintet of seasoned Bay Area musicians based in Oakland, CA.  While the instrumentation mimics that of 1930's French cafe groups, their focus on vocals and their collective background in manouche, blues, jazz and soul delivers a unique sound and feel to the band.

Le Jazu's favorite music comes from the musical greats of the 20th century.  They perform music written or originally performed by the best: eg.  Fats Waller, Cole Porter, Bessie Smith, and even a little Duke Ellington, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.  In addition to the Great American Songbook, their taste run wide:  They love the music of Django Reinhardt, New Orleans, Latin artists such as Luis Bonfa and Consuelo Velazquez, and even interpret numbers by "outsiders", such as Dan Hicks, the Squirrel Nut Zippers and Bob Dylan, among others.
