East Cut Electric is San Francisco’s first nightly digital projection, turning Folsom Street’s striking PG&E Substation into a vibrant display of digital art. This community-driven installation adds a creative touch to the neighborhood, bringing warmth and color to the evening streetscape. The projected artwork will change every quarter, affording the opportunity to showcase multiple artists in one digital mural. Stop by after dark and enjoy this unique addition to the East Cut!

Breath of Spring
by Light Harvest Studio

Starting April 2025, East Cut Electric is featuring the artwork titled Breath of Spring, created by filmmaker Ryan Uzilevsky with dancer Emery Morgan @mizzz.em and floral artist Peter Sun @the.blossomboy. The piece weaves together human movement and natural form in a story of renewal using live floral sets and natural elements of local California flora, rooting the work in something alive and grounded, as a ethereal dancer moves through it all — bringing breath, rhythm, and humanity to this interplay of light and living matter.

Inspired by the sight of wildflowers growing through cracks in the concrete and finding a way towards the light against all odds, the piece is about breaking through and following beauty and light in your life, even during challenging conditions.

Also inspired by a vintage painting of the same name by the artist Marcus Uzilevsky, Ryan’s grandfather, who moved to San Francisco from New York in 1969 to follow the creative spirit that was breathing into the city at that time.
