East Cut Patrol Extinguishes Fire

With help from nearby neighbors, the East Cut Patrol successfully extinguished an early evening fire on Lansing Street. The fire started in a trash can at the top of the Essex Street stairs causing damage to the west-facing wall of 66-76 Lansing Street.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, however, footage from a nearby security camera reveal the fire may have been caused by a cigarette thrown in the trash. Members of the San Francisco Fire Department also said to neighbors the plastic materials used in the can shell may have contributed to the spread of the fire.

The East Cut Community Benefit District would like to thank East Cut Patrol Officers Jashan Singh, Conrad Ng,  and Diederick Colorado for their heroic work and expert timing to extinguish the fire and protect the hundreds of homes of nearby residents on Lansing Street and Guy Place.
