Rene Cazenave Apartments contains 120 units of affordable housing for formerly homeless individuals and is located in the Transbay Neighborhood. The building is named in memory of Rene Cazenave, an activist and board member of Community Housing Partnership.  The project is a collaborative effort between BRIDGE Housing (the developer) and HomeRise (the owner and property manager), with Felton Institute and Citywide Supportive Housing providing comprehensive on-site supportive services.  It’s a GreenPoint Rated Platinum certified building, incorporating features like a rooftop solar energy canopy, enhanced air quality ventilation, and resilient seismic design to ensure long-term stability and a healthy living environment for its vulnerable residents. Beyond the individual units, the building emphasizes community integration. Its ground floor features retail spaces intended to serve the neighborhood, and an interior “Main Street” corridor leads residents past various support services like behavioral health counseling, case management, and medical services, making these vital resources easily accessible and encouraging engagement.
