San Francisco Botanical Garden offers urban gardening tips to improve the environment, using the park as its classroom.
At Salesforce Park
425 Mission St, San Francisco
Get your hands dirty—at least figuratively—with San Francisco Botanical Garden’s Urban Gardening Tips at Salesforce Park! Happening every fourth Wednesday, this series uses the park itself as a living classroom, sharing easy, practical ways you can green your surroundings and improve the environment, no matter how much space you have. Salesforce Park is no ordinary rooftop garden—it boasts the second largest collection of trees in San Francisco (right behind Golden Gate Park) and features a unique global garden design.
As you wander from one end of the park to the other, you pass by landscapes inspired by different corners of the world, all while perched 70 feet above the city streets. This mid-city oasis makes the perfect backdrop for learning about plants, sustainability, and how to bring more life to your own urban space. The program is free and open to the public, so bring your curiosity, and maybe a notebook, to pick up tips from the experts while enjoying one of San Francisco’s most surprising green gems.
